How many you actually work with is up to you but Teamtheme will provide you with a list of around
100 schools and this is the size of your opportunity. The list will equate to approximately 10 to 15
thousand eligible children. Our most successful area has a list of only 54 schools to go at so you have
ample scope to do very well indeed for yourself.
Q:
When do the parents pay for their kids to attend and where does the money go to?
A:
The parents will return the payment along with the enrolment form to the school. You will collect the
payments and slips a few days prior to the course start date. All of the money / cheques are yours to
keep and deposit into your own bank. You will be licensed by us to have an account in the name of
TEAMTHEME. Your costs will be met from this account also.
Q:
What happens in bad weather or when it gets dark too early in the winter?
A:
Teamtheme believe that football happens in all weathers! In extreme conditions we will take the
children indoors but we NEVER cancel courses. In the winter (mid Nov to mid Jan) we don’t coach
outdoors and limit our activities to curricular assistance and to Christmas tournaments etc. YOU DO NOT
pay any royalties during December and January and this is often a good time to fill your diary with course
bookings for the first part of the following year.
Q:
Is there a quick reference guide to helping me out whilst I get settled in?
A:
As well as ongoing training whenever you need it from our dedicated Training Team, the list of
benefits in being ‘with us’ just goes on and on. But the ‘operating manual’ that we provide in hard copy
AND on CD Rom is a true recipe for success. You WILL succeed as a professional football coach by
following our advice and making the most of our support services.
Q:
If I do well and want another area will that be possible?
A:
Yes certainly, you are only limited by your own ambitions and organisational skills. However, TYA
areas are being taken up by new coaches every day so, as time goes by, the map will present less
opportunities in your immediate vicinity. If you are supremely confident at start up you may ‘work your
first area and reserve another adjacent area’ OR simply agree to take on more than one area from the
beginning. This approach doubles your opportunity but also your costs.
Q:
What if I want to ‘give up’ the area?
A:
From time to time, people wish to move or emigrate etc & this would mean giving up an established
TYA area. You would have a business with a value & may sell it to another person providing that TT
assesses them as suitable. You COULD use your skills & experience as a Head Coach to actually
facilitate a move ie: Choose where you would like to live & work as a TYA manager in the new area.
Q:
What about book-keeping, accounts and VAT etc ?
A:
One of the major benefits in joining us is that we know exactly how to run a TYA efficiently and this
includes all issues around tax / VAT / wages etc. We are able to help you by carefully targeting your
performance to maximise your area without having to worry about VAT. If you do reach the threshold this
simply means that you are doing VERY WELL indeed and our management team will guide and advise
you every step of the way so that the less interesting side of owning and running a business does not
ever bog you down.
Q:
What is the best way to pay myself?
A:
How you pay yourself and those that work for you is very important in terms of tax, national
insurance etc. TT will guide you so that you maximise your reta me. Tax avoidance is NOT illegal, only
evasion and we’ll keep you on the straight and narrow. Our company accountants are there for you ……
It’s another example of our strength working with you and for you.
Q:
Seriously though, how much can I earn doing this?
A:
The more established you become in your area and the more attention you pay to our trainers and
guidelines the more you will earn. Our more established coaches earn between £30 and £50k. You
should expect between £16 to £24k in your first year.
Q:
I already run a holiday course at my local school. Can I carry on with that?
A:
Yes you can. You will simply need to re-brand it as a TEAMTHEME COURSE next time and agree
the format of the course with TT trainers. The fact that you have an established venue is great news and
a good foundation to build up your involvement in coaching as a FULL TIME profession.
